Participation is open to all persons interested in Geomorphology.
We recommend that you read the information below regarding registration before registering for the Conference. We also recommend you visit every page of this website to explore all the options before registering. Once you have read this information, please click on the registration button which will take you to the Online Registration Form.
Alternatively, please download and use the hard copy registration brochure, which will give you information on functions, accommodation, tours and field trips before proceeding with the online process.
Please note that all persons intending to attend the Conference must register, including invited speakers and chairpersons. Please read through this document carefully before you complete your form.

To be entitled to the early registration fee you must have registered and paid by 15 April 2009.
*Students: A student is defined as a holder of a valid student card from a recognized tertiary or secondary educational institution or international student card. Students must be studying full time to qualify for the discounted rate. A copy of your student card is required when you submit your registration form. Without this copy the full registration fee will be charged.
Exhibiters and Sponsors should refer to the Exhibition Manual for their registration details and entitlements.
Entitlements
The registration fee entitles all delegates to the following:
- All sessions
- All official documentation including program booklet, abstracts (on CD) and delegate list
- Welcome Reception
- Morning and afternoon teas
- Entrance to the display area
Payment of Fees
- Registrations will not be processed or confirmed until payment in full is received.
- If you are unable to pay by credit card please click here to down load a hard copy registration form.
- Faxed registration forms will only by processed/ confirmed if credit card details are included on the form.
- All transactions by credit card will appear on your statement as payment to Conference by THPL.
- Registration forms sent by post must be accompanied with full payment in order for your registration to be processed/ confirmed.
- Cheque payments for registration and accommodation will only be accepted up until 6 June 2009. After this date, all accommodation requests must be submitted with credit card details via the online registration form or by calling +61 2 9265 0700.
- Payment may be made by cheque or credit card. Cheques must be made payable to Geomorphology Conference 2009. Your name and full address should be typed or printed clearly on the back of the cheque. Cheque payments from overseas must be a bank cheque in Australian Dollars drawn on an Australian Bank. No other currency will be accepted.
- All payments by cheque will incur a A$10.00 cheque processing fee.
- You may not pay your fees by "electronic funds transfer (EFT)”.
Acknowledgements
Your registration and payment will be acknowledged via email or post with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Your registration will not be processed or confirmed if payment does not accompany your form.
- You will not receive any further publications before the Conference. Your letter of acknowledgment will include any further advice necessary prior to your arrival at the Conference and can be used to assist with visa applications. At the Conference you will receive the official documentation including program booklet, abstracts (on CD) and delegate list.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Conference Managers.
Registration Fees:
- Before Monday 6 April 2009 will incur an A$150.00 cancellation fee.
- Before Monday 18 May 2009 will receive a 50% refund of fees paid.
- After Monday 18 May 2009 there will be no refund.
Accommodation:
- A minimum one night’s deposit must be paid or credit card details given at time of booking to guarantee reservation
- Deposit is non-refundable at Monday 1 June 2009
Social:
- Payments are non-refundable at Monday 1 June 2009.
Tours:
- Payments are non-refundable at Monday 1 June 2009.
Field Trips:
- Payments are non-refundable at Monday 1 June 2009. Except the Geomorphology along a Plate Boundary - The Alpine & Coastal Landscapes of New Zealand field trip which is non-refundable at Friday 1 May 2009
Entrance to Conference
Each member of the Conference will receive a name badge on registration. The badge will be your official pass and must be clearly visible at all times to obtain entry to all sessions and included social functions.
Australian Visa Application
All travelers to Australia, other than Australian and New Zealand citizens, are legally required to hold a valid visa to travel to Australia. Visas are either issued electronically (ETA) with nothing appearing in the passport or through application where a sticker is required in the passport (Non-ETA). You are advised to apply for your visa as soon as possible to ensure it is processed in time. The minimum time frame stated for an Australian visa application is six (6) weeks.

Australian Visa Application Supporting Documentation
Delegates applying for a non-ETA visa may present their paid confirmation letter to an Australian visa office to support their application. No other letters will be issued for this purpose. As a Conference delegate, you are not guaranteed to be granted a visa.
Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the Conference and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Conference, or through cancellation of the Conference, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour or field trip monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia, failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover), loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Conference Managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
